San Francisco Fim Society

Congratulations to Kontent Films Founder Mark Decena. Out of 57 applicants nationwide, the San Francisco Film Society announced him as one of the nine finalists for the Hearst Screenwriting grant. The winner, to be announced in December, will be awarded $15,000 for expressing an artistic approach and a unique personal perspective to the screenplay’s subject.

Mark Decena, “The Martyr”
The apparent suicide of a peace activist has a galvanizing effect on global efforts to end war and conflict. When the activist unexpectedly turns up very much alive, his colleagues must decide whether the movement’s new momentum is more important than one man’s existence.

The River Red For Redford: The Journey Continues

The River Red Film

Mark Decena’s new film on water in the Colorado River Basin is 90 percent shot. Kontent komrades Renata Fource (prod.), John Behrens (DP), and AC’s Fearghal O’Dea and Forrest Pound completed a month-long shoot that took them rafting, flying, and solar battery-charging from the Rocky Mountain National Park to the Delta in Mexico’s Sea of Cortez.

The River Red: Exploring a new water ethic for the New West, executive produced and narrated by Robert Redford, is an important documentary about saving the Colorado River and inspiring in people, a reverence for water.

To keep up with the latest water trends, facts, action campaigns, and information about the film, you can join the films’ Facebook page and Twitter following.

We hope you join The River Red community to share your voice and to learn how you can be part of the fight to keep life’s most precious natural resource flowing.

Take the first easy step by sharing the following links with everyone you know who relies on water.
