THIS LOOKS BETTER IN STEREO 3D

I directed my first project in Stereo 3D in early December ’10. It was this game trailer for a new Sony PS3 Move game that you can play in S3D. The spot was designed to play on 3DTVs for in-store and event exhibition. If any of you loyal PSP’ers see it out in the wild let me know.

The interesting thing about this spot is that it’s not only shot in S3D, but it’s a great big exercise in comping in stereo 3D. Everyone but the hero is shot on greenscreen. Background plates I did myself with my trusty point-and-shot Fujipix W3 3D camera. I just went out and did a run-and-gun daylong location hunt and then comped all my actors into those locations.

Director David Munro in REGRETURATURE

On Thursday April 7th at the Swedish American Hall, Director David Munro and 13 other successful Bay Area writers bravely shared works from the beginnings of their careers. Sometimes taking a risk to read works you may now regret, can give the most rewarding feelings. David may have taken writing gigs he wasn’t proud of in order to fund his first film, but that very film ended up screening at Sundance. If you missed David Munro’s appearance at REGRETURATURE presented by Litquake, than you’re in luck. Litseen covered the event with more deatails and videos capturing the evening.
