NATIONAL UNITY MARCH

Asian Americans Unite

Organized by Asian Americans Advancing Justice (AAJC), the Unity March in Washington DC, was the first Asian American-led multicultural event to advance socioeconomic and cultural equity, racial justice, and solidarity. The June 25th mobilization brought together the diverse Asian diaspora with multicultural partners across the LGBTQ+, Muslim, disability communities, Black, Indigenous and Pacific Islander, Latino, and Arab American communities.

With help from CAAM, Kontent produced the Opening Video incorporating the crowd-rousing unity clap, and two other videos highlighting Representation and Rights. Utilizing a technique we are characterizing as “Asynchronous Directing”, we ask participants to self record answers to questions we pose on specific topics. The technique includes best recording practices, as well as follow up questions based on answers received. Used extensively in the film “Me & My Robot” prior to the pandemic, it has proved to be an effective and cost effective production technique that we’re continuing to evolve.
